Join State Leaders to Solve Constituents' Transportation Needs
You are invited to a meeting of state transportation leaders on Tuesday, December 3, from 9:30 am to 3 pm in Washington, D.C., prior to NCSL’s 2013 Fall Forum.
Point A to Point B: Serving Constituents through Transportation Access and Performance is a follow-up event to the successful State Transportation Leaders Summit recently held in Atlanta. This pre-conference will explore Americans’ changing travel patterns and how states can serve constituents’ wants and needs by improving transportation access and performance.
This meeting will convene state transportation legislative leaders—including chairs of transportation-related committees across the states—and other stakeholders for a substantive, timely conversation on how to provide affordable, efficient transportation systems that effectively meet constituents’ needs.
Possible topics include multi-modal planning and safety, transportation affordability, the role of technology and social media in helping people make travel choices, user-focused performance measures, transportation access for vulnerable populations, public engagement in transportation decision-making, and other topics related to delivering quality transportation outcomes for users.
Limited travel stipends may be available for legislators. To RSVP, or if you have questions about the meeting or travel stipends, please contact NCSL staff Douglas Shinkle or Jaime Rall (303-364-7700).
