2014 ACA Database Expands: NCSL has updated latest state legislative actions related to health reforms. The online database now provides one-click access to 1,194 bills and resolutions. Sort by state or topics, including Exchanges, Medicaid, Insurance Reforms, Funding or Opt-outs. So far, 235 measures have been signed into law or adopted in 43 states and D.C.. 





State governments already have made many decisions about the Affordable Care Act and are responding to federal implementation deadlines.  NCSL has numerous resources — reports, briefs, legislative tracking and summaries, multimedia and meeting sessions — all aimed at helping state legislatures and policymakers learn about state actions and options.

State Actions to Address Health Insurance Exchanges - updated Jan. 16, 2015

Read this NCSL report for 2015 information on state actions and responses to implement exchanges as outlined in the Affordable Care Act. The second year open enrollment period for private insurance plans offered through state and federal marketplaces runs for three months, Nov. 15 to Feb. 15, 2015. Results through Jan. 16 show about 7.8 million new and renewed enrollees in state and federal run plans. The sales sites serve both brand new applicants and some of the enrollees from 2014 who may want to change plans for 2015.  NCSL's report has the 50-state history and this year's plans.  A 60-page supplement details each state.
