Health Innovations Task Force

NCSL’s Task Force on Innovations in State Health Systems explores the issues and opportunities faced by state policymakers as they reform their own health system. The task force also provides NCSL with guidance as it develops health policy resources for legislators and legislative staff.

Energy Supply Task Force

The NCSL Task Force on Energy Supply brings together legislators to examine critical energy issues that policymakers face as they shape energy policies to build a reliable, affordable and resilient national energy system.

State of Play

Military and Veterans Affairs Task Force

This task force was created to examine issues affecting military-community relations and the health and well-being of service members, veterans and their families.

Agriculture Task Force

NCSL’s Agriculture Task Force was created to examine state and federal agriculture policy issues. The task force will help develop NCSL agriculture policy, study critical agriculture and rural development issues facing the states, explore policy options to address these concerns, as well as serve as a conduit for state legislative communication with Congress, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and other federal agencies.

Task Forces

NCSL uses task forces to complement the work of the nine standing committees. Task forces typically deal with issues that cut across the jurisdictions of the standing committees and are created for a specified period of time.

Foundation

The NCSL Foundation for State Legislatures is committed to strengthening state legislatures, counteracting cynicism and distrust of the legislative process, and helping lawmakers confront and solve the critical issues of the day through a public-private dialogue.

NCSL Responds to President Trump’s Request for Comments on AI Action Plan

NCSL’s comments highlight the efforts of state legislatures nationwide in enacting AI legislation that strikes a balance between fostering innovation and ensuring consumer protection. They recognize state legislators as leaders and experts in the AI field and urge the administration to seek input and learn from a bipartisan group of legislators while developing an AI action plan for America. Additionally, NCSL’s comments share the organization's resources, including databases, policy resolutions from the Standing Committee on Technology and Communications, publications from the Executive Task Force on Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Privacy and various articles.
