State Legislatures Magazine is the award-winning publication from the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Our next edition will publish in August 2025 and will be distributed on-site at Summit 2025 in Boston. The deadline for space reservations and advertising materials is Friday May 16, 2025.

Copy Acceptance

Paid advertising with State Legislatures will be within the generally accepted bounds of taste and quality appropriate to a national magazine of state government and policy, as long as the advertisement is not overtly partisan or political. The publisher reserves the right to reject any advertisement considered unsuitable for the publication. Advertisers will place "ADVERTISEMENT" in a minimum of all-caps, 6-point type in a legible location at the top of their final creative.

Liability

Advertisers and advertising agencies assume liability for the contents of all advertisements printed and also assume responsibility for any claims arising there from against the publisher.

  • Ad must include a black block with white type that displays ADVERTISEMENT across the top using 10-point Arial, centered and offset 4 pixels from the top.

  • Open rate: 34%; click-to-open rate: 21%.
  • Advertising in NCSL This Week provides extended reach to more than 9,500 subscribers on LinkedIn. Subscribers include senior government relations executives in the Washington, D.C., market area. E-mail open rate is 50%, with an additional 2,500 average weekly views on LinkedIn.
