WHAT'S NEW

Autonomous Vehicles Legislative Database

So far in 2017, 22 states have introduced 49 bills addressing autonomous vehicles (AV). NCSL’s Transportation Program has developed a new database for tracking legislation introduced in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. The database is updated weekly and includes introduced legislation on a wide range of AV topics, from commercial operation to vehicle inspection requirements and from insurance and liability to cybersecurity. This project was created through a challenge grant, made possible by the NCSL Foundation.

NCSL Foundation Staff Update

The NCSL Foundation for State Legislatures is pleased to introduce our new staff coordinator, Sarah Settle. Sarah moved to Denver a year and a half ago from North Carolina, but she still bleeds Tar Heel blue. She comes to us from an international women’s health nonprofit where she’s spent the last few years cultivating expertise in project coordination and event planning. When she’s not digging into spreadsheets, Sarah enjoys curling up with her rescue dog, Isabel, and a good book. Sarah is excited to be joining NCSL and is looking forward to meeting all our sponsors this summer in Boston!
