Why did you choose to work at the legislature?
I was interested in putting my law degree to use in a place where I could be of service and make an impact. I also believe that when children visit the Capitol, they should be able to see people who look like them working hard on behalf of the people of Nebraska!
What’s the best advice you were ever given?
Control the things that you can control and do the best work that you possibly can! I can control my effort and how I treat people, so I work very hard to make sure that I do both in a positive manner.
Who or what inspires you?
My family inspires me! They understand that working for the legislature can be very time consuming when we are in session, and they go out of their way to help keep me to stay connected to them so that I can focus on my job!
What’s one thing you love about your state?
That a child or adult can receive a quality education in Nebraska schools regardless of their ZIP code because the people of Nebraska believe it to be important and contribute the resources and skillsets to make it happen!
What are you currently reading/listening to/watching?
I am currently reading “One House: The Unicameral’s Progressive Vision for Nebraska,” by Charlyne Berens, and “The Sentinel,” by Lee Child.
