Why did you choose to work at the legislature?
Originally, I chose to work at the legislature because of the people. I wanted to be a part of a group that worked hard, laughed loud, searched for answers and created solutions. I’ve chosen to stay because I see that I can have a positive impact on my organization and on the people coming up behind me. I also don’t know anyone in my personal life who enjoys and trusts their colleagues like I do mine.
What skill or talent are you most proud of?
My ability to keep us modernizing and improving our policies and processes.
What’s the best advice you were ever given?
To leave a place better than I found it. When I was a child, it meant making my bed. But as I move through life, my Grandad’s advice is applicable in almost all professional and personal situations.
Who or what inspires you?
I am inspired by the people who bring joy and grace with them to every challenge.
What are you currently reading/listening to/watching?
I am currently reading “Nice White Ladies: The Truth About White Supremacy, Our Role in It, and How We Can Help Dismantle It.”
