Why did you choose to work at the Legislature?
I chose to work for the Nevada Legislature because of my passion for public service. After working for Nevada state executive branch agencies for approximately 14 years, I took the opportunity in October 2013 to work for the Legislature, where I believe I can utilize my skills and be at most service to the community. I am proud and truly grateful for being a part of the decision-making process and passage of legislation that becomes part of Nevada history.
What skill or talent are you most proud of?
My organizational and analytical skills, which are necessary to become an effective program analyst. I also believe having emotional intelligence helps me with social interactions at work and in life in general.
Who or what inspires you?
The American dream, that anyone, regardless of where they were born can attain their own version of success, through sacrifice, risk taking and hard work. I was born and raised in the Philippines and was given the opportunity to migrate to the United States. It was an opportunity that I don’t want to take for granted. This opportunity further inspires me to appreciate all the little things in life and to always put forward my best, hoping that I can provide a positive impact or be a role model to someone who may want to pursue a career in state service or the Nevada Legislature.
What’s one thing you love about your state?
Nevada has plenty of access to great outdoor activities and entertainment, and we don’t pay state income tax.
What are you currently reading/listening to/watching?
Since we are now preparing for the 2023 legislative session, most of my days are spent working, so I may have time to watch only the news or newly released movies. However, during the interim or non-legislative session years, I would typically watch documentaries or movies and series based on real-life stories.
