Take a deep statistical dive into your legislative district by tapping into the U.S. Census Bureau’s data, including the American Community Survey, the nation’s largest survey of households.

Get snapshots of your constituents by race, age and sex; school enrollment, educational attainment and ancestry; employment status, occupation and earnings; as well as information about housing structures and costs, owned vehicles and more.

Access state legislative district data using data.census.gov.

“The data is incredibly useful, absolutely,” Pennsylvania Rep. Mike Schlossberg says. “I’d absolutely use it in the future, and I will pass it along to my caucus. There is a lot of data in here that I think can be really impactful.”

How to easily access the Census Bureau’s mountain of data? A new video from the bureau provides a step-by-step guide to drilling down from national and statewide results to individual legislative districts.

Follow along with the video by visiting the tables page on the bureau’s website. The tool also allows you to view data in map forms, and all information is available for download.
