The American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries (ASLCS) is hosting its annual professional development seminar for principal clerks and secretaries and their staffs.
This year's meeting takes place in Little Rock and aims to bring together U.S. and international participants to learn important skills and procedures, build relationships, and take away new tools and ideas to enhance the effectiveness of state legislatures.
On the agenda are sessions on leadership, team building, civics education, parliamentary procedure and a discussion with Cheryl Johnson, clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives; two breakout sessions for principals and associates; the Legislative Expo; and meetings of the standing committees and special committees. In addition, our hosts are planning an array of social events to allow attendees to network with their counterparts from other states while experiencing the best of Arkansas hospitality!
