2024 LRL Professional Development Seminar
You are invited to attend the 2024 Legislative Research Librarians Professional Development Seminar in Raleigh, N.C., Oct. 6-9, 2024. This meeting is specifically designed for state legislative staff who are members of NCSL’s professional staff association, Legislative Research Librarians. Meeting attendees will experience a blend of insightful sessions, delectable dining experiences, and captivating tours highlighting the best of North Carolina's legislative landscape.
Attendees can look forward to engaging sessions covering a diverse range of topics, including AI technology, library marketing, legislative research, and more. Additionally, we will indulge in culinary delights at some of Raleigh's finest restaurants, offering a taste of the region's vibrant food scene.
Our itinerary also includes tours of the historic state capitol building and surrounding government complex, providing a firsthand look at the heart of North Carolina's governance. And for a change of scenery, we will venture to Chapel Hill, where we will explore its rich history and cultural attractions.

2024 Notable Document Awards
The Notable Documents Awards are presented annually by LRL at the NCSL Legislative Summit. Recipients will be honored at the Salute to Legislative Staff session at the Summit and the annual LRL Business Meeting. The winning documents will be announced in the LRL Newsline and the NCSL website. Elizabeth Lincoln, director of the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library, is serving as the chair of the 2024 Notable Documents Awards Committee. Nominations for the 2024 Notable Document Awards will be accepted starting Monday, April 8, 2024, with a deadline of Friday, June 7, 2024.

2024 Legislative Staff Achievement Awards
The annual Legislative Staff Achievement Award was created by the Legislative Staff Coordinating Committee to recognize excellence in supporting the work of a state legislature and strengthening the legislative institution. Each staff association associated with NCSL may name up to two recipients–individuals, teams, or legislative offices–for recognition, each year. Recipients of the 2024 awards are presented with a plaque and are recognized by the NCSL Staff Chair during the Salute to Legislative Staff session at the 2024 NCSL Legislative Summit and the annual LRL Business Meeting. Nominations for the 2024 LSAA will be accepted starting Monday, April 8, 2024, with a deadline of Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
