Attitudes on Hunger: NCSL and Walmart to Unveil Focus Group Findings on Hunger in America
CHICAGO – On Wednesday, Aug. 8, the National Conference of State Legislatures’ (NCSL) Hunger Partnership and Walmart will unveil the results of a series of focus groups conducted to learn more about how women feel about the issue of hunger in America. The focus groups were conducted with diverse groups of women in Chicago, Ill. and Houston, Texas.

The NCSL Foundation for State Legislatures launched an initiative in 2010 to raise the visibility of hunger in America and improve the availability of healthy food for hungry families. The Hunger Partnership links legislators, legislative staff and private sector partners to identify innovative and successful programs, and crafts bipartisan, balanced and concise materials and mechanisms to support legislators in their efforts to reduce hunger in America. The Hunger Partnership is co-chaired by Senator Renee Unterman of Georgia and Representative Dwight Evans of Pennsylvania.
NCSL is a bipartisan organization that serves the legislators and staffs of the states, commonwealths and territories. It provides research, technical assistance and opportunities for policymakers to exchange ideas on the most pressing state issues and is an effective and respected advocate for the interests of the states in the American federal system.
