Additionally, I am excited to announce the 2024 LINCS & LSPA Professional Development Seminar in scenic Denver. From Oct. 20 to 23, join legislative staff members from across the nation for three days of enriching sessions and interactive workshops designed to elevate your skills and expand your horizons. I encourage you to attend, share your experiences and embrace the opportunity to learn from one another.

Furthermore, nominations are now open for the 2024 Legislative Staff Achievement Awards. Created to recognize excellence in supporting state legislatures, these awards celebrate individuals, teams, or legislative offices that strengthen our legislative institutions. Nominate deserving candidates by May 22, 2024, and join us in honoring their contributions at the 2024 NCSL Legislative Summit.

Lastly, I encourage you to participate in the nomination process for the Online Democracy Award. Help us celebrate legislative websites that make democracy more accessible and engaging by nominating deserving candidates before the May 10, 2024, deadline. Your participation can truly make a difference in recognizing outstanding contributions to democracy.

2024 Legislative Staff Achievement Awards

The annual Legislative Staff Achievement Award was created by the Legislative Staff Coordinating Committee to recognize excellence in supporting the work of a state legislature and strengthening the legislative institution. Each staff association associated with NCSL may name up to two recipients—individuals, teams, or legislative offices—for recognition, each year. Recipients of the 2024 awards are presented with a plaque and are recognized by the NCSL staff chair during the Salute to Legislative Staff session at the 2024 NCSL Legislative Summit and the annual LRL Business Meeting. Nominations for the 2024 LSAA will be accepted starting Monday, April 8, 2024, with a deadline of Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

Celebrate Excellence in Democracy: Nominate for the Online Democracy Award!

The Online Democracy Award is calling on you to nominate legislative websites that stand out in making democracy more accessible and engaging. We invite you to nominate websites that exemplify excellence in user-friendly design, informative content, and effective technological integration.

The LINCS/NALIT Online Democracy Award is given each year to a legislature, legislative chamber or caucus whose website helps make democracy user-friendly. The award will be presented during the Salute to Legislative Staff Luncheon at the 2024 NCSL Legislative Summit in Louisville, Kentucky.

By participating in the nomination process, you can shine a spotlight on websites that make a difference in connecting constituents with their state legislatures. Nominate today and let us celebrate outstanding contributions to democracy!

Nominations for the 2024 Online Democracy Award will be accepted starting Friday, March 8, 2024, with a deadline of Friday, May 10, 2024.
