May 2023 NLPES IT Auditors Group Info-Sharing Call: Using Risk Assessment to Focus on What Matters

The National Legislative Program Evaluation Society is hosting a Zoom call to provide an opportunity for NLPES IT/IS Auditors to share information and learn from each other. Leading the call will be Miki Cestnik, from Montana’s Legislative Audit Division, who will introduce the state’s risk assessment structure and changes the division has undergone. This will be followed by breakout discussions of risk assessment across the various organizational structures of audit functions. Finally, we will wrap up with key takeaways and discuss specific challenges to implementing a risk assessment process. 

Continuing Professional Education

Legislative audit offices that follow GAO Yellow Book standards may authorize this call for one hour of continuing professional education at their discretion.
