NCSL is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone regardless of ability or access method.
NCSL uses industry-standard techniques and preferred practices to provide the highest possible level of ADA website accessibility for our users. Using automated tools, we routinely check the site for accessibility.
If you are having difficulty accessing materials on our website, please call the telephone support line at 1-800-659-2656 or 711. The operator will contact the NCSL office.
Services we can provide include:
Audio: NCSL has a small number of audio files on the website. If you are unable to listen to the audio file, we can provide a transcript.
PDFs: The NCSL website includes more than 12,000 documents in PDF format. If you are unable to access the PDF document, we can provide you with a copy of the document in Microsoft Word or plain text format.
Videos: The vast majority of videos on our site are hosted on YouTube. When you view the videos on NCSL’s YouTube channel, they are set to include closed captioning. If you want to view a video on our site on the YouTube channel instead of on our site, simply click the YouTube icon on the lower right corner of the video screen and it will open the video in YouTube.
In a small number of cases, YouTube does not provide closed captioning. If you encounter a video that does not have captions, please notify us and we will provide a transcript of that video.
We welcome your feedback and suggestions. If you have any difficulty accessing information on our websites, please email Feray Baytok, NCSL IT director, or Ed Smith, NCSL director of Digital Communication.
