The 2012 LINCS professional development seminar will be a meeting for the record books!

LINCS is proud to be one of six NCSL staff sections taking part in this joint professional development seminar. The Leadership Staff Section (LSS), National Association of Legislative Information Technology (NALIT), National Legislative Services and Security Association (NLSSA), Legal Services (LSS) and the Research and Committee Staff Section (RACCS) will all come together Oct. 9–12 in Madison, Wisc.

PLEASE NOTE: The Concourse Hotel is sold out! A block of overflow rooms has been secured at the Sheraton Madison hotel. Transportation will be provided daily from the Sheraton to the Concourse and/or the state capitol.

LINCS members will discuss some of the critical issues facing legislative communicators and learn about new tools and technologies to use on the job. The three-day conference will also include joint sessions on a wide variety of legislative topics.  

LINCS tentative online agenda is online and will be updated regularly. Sessions for all staff sections will be held at the Madison Concourse Hotel and the state Capitol. All LINCS tours and events are within walking distance of the hotel.

REGISTRATION

Registration fees are:

  • Early Bird (through Sept. 7, 2012): $350
  • Post early bird rate for Legislative staff: $375
  • Spouse/guest: $150
  • Bootcamp: $125
  • All others: $450

Three ways to register:

  • Register online
    Requires a credit card for everyone except legislators and legislative staff. Confirmations will be sent by email.
  • Fax the registration form to 303-364-7811

Onsite Registration

If you can't make the Sept. 28 registration cut-off, onsite registration will be available at the Madison Concourse Hotel beginning Oct. 9, 2012.

Spouse/Guest Registration. The $150 guest fee includes admission to all scheduled meal functions and evening social events.

Cancellations received in the NCSL Denver office by Oct. 8, 2012, will be refunded minus a $50 processing fee. Cancellations must be made in writing and faxed to 303-364-7811. Fees cannot be refunded for registrations cancelled after the conference begins.

The Concourse is now sold out.  Please make your hotel reservations for the PDS at the Sheraton Madison. Transportation will be provided from the Sheraton to the Concourse and/or state capitol.

Book a hotel room online for the LINCS PDS

Each attendee is responsible for making his or her hotel and travel arrangements.

If arranging hotel accommodations by phone, please indicate that you are attending the NCSL conference to receive the negotiated rate of $149 per night (plus tax).

Reservations must be held by one night's room deposit (major credit card guarantee is acceptable). The cut-off date for the negotiated rate is Sept. 17, 2012.

Ground Transportation
Use the courtesy phones at the airport to call for the Madison Concourse Hotel complimentary shuttle. Cabs are also available; fares are approximately $15 one way.
