Why did you choose to work at the Legislature?

I would say the job chose me or I fell into the institution, and it never let me go. I started working at the Legislature as a student intern in a member’s office and came back after graduating just based off a general need for a job. I started to love working with the people both inside and outside of the Legislature and found a place in the archives, where I could use my research background. The more I learned in this role, the more I was compelled to stay.

What skill or talent are you most proud of?

I am most proud of my willingness to always ask questions no matter how silly they may sound. The question may be silly for the moment, but the knowledge gained from the answer is, for the most part, forever.

What’s the best advice you were ever given?

“The knowledge that you have emerged wiser and stronger from setbacks means that you are, ever after, secure in your ability to survive. You will never truly know yourself, or the strength of your relationships, until both have been tested by adversity. Such knowledge is a true gift, for all that it is painfully won, and it has been worth more than any qualification I ever earned.” —J.K. Rowling, “Very Good Lives”

Who or what inspires you?

Fortunately, I have many sources of inspiration. At the top of that list are the many professional women who have taught me and instilled confidence in me in all aspects of life. From my mother and sisters to co-workers and friends, I am blessed with a circle of great woman who aim to uplift me.

What’s one thing you love about your state or territory?

I live and work where I most love to vacation!

What are you currently reading/listening to/watching?

Currently reading “She Memes Well,” by Quinta Brunson, and binging “Younger” on Netflix.
