Why did you choose to work at the Legislature?

My career with the Legislature began straight out of college, working with the New Jersey Office of the State Auditor, then transitioning to my current role within the Administrative Unit. I’ve always felt called to be a person of service and purpose and I feel that working for the Legislature fills both of those cups.

What skill or talent are you most proud of?

I love to cook and have a keen sense of taste. I joke with my husband that I should become a sommelier when I retire.

What’s the best advice you were ever given?

As someone who is extremely analytical, I sometimes overthink things and may become overwhelmed by the big picture. My husband gave me the motto “don’t think, just do,” which helps me break down the big picture into smaller tasks, making professional and personal life easier to navigate.

Who or what inspires you?

My family, friends and just about everyone I meet inspire me. Every person leaves a lasting impression, whether it’s known or not, and I find inspiration in leaving a positive impact on others and the world around me.

What’s one thing you love about your state or territory?

I love that I can be on a farm one moment, then the shore, and then I can be in New York City or Philadelphia within an hour and change. The diversity of New Jersey is unreal, and the food is top notch!

What are you currently reading/listening to/watching?

I am currently finishing book five in the series “A Court of Thorns and Roses,” I enjoy listening to the podcast “From the Heart with Rachel Brathen” and I am currently watching “Outlander” and “Good Girls.”
