“This position has provided me with the challenge and new environment that I was craving professionally.”

Why did you choose to work at the Legislature?
I chose to work at the Vermont Legislature because I was ready for a career shift. After nearly 20 years in the classroom working with multilingual learners, I was ready for a change. This position has provided me with the challenge and new environment that I was craving professionally.
What skill or talent are you most proud of?
I love to make pies with creatively crafted crusts. I braid them, make fancy shapes and usually have a theme, depending on what the pie is for.
What’s the best advice you were ever given?
Nothing comes to mind … do you have any for me?
Who or what inspires you?
I watched the movie “Nyad” with my family a few months ago. It’s about a long-distance swimmer and her challenges achieving her goals. I was inspired by her dedication and ability to swim incredibly long distances, and I registered to complete a 3-mile swim this summer.
What’s one thing you love about your state or territory?
It’s difficult to choose just one thing! I do love all of Vermont’s ponds for swimming and paddleboarding in the summer, and for ice skating and XC skiing in the winter.
What are you currently reading/listening to/watching?
I just finished “Let Us Descend,” by Jesmyn Ward, and I watch “Queer Eye” when I have time between work and driving kids around.
