Why did you choose to work at the legislature?

I worked in the hotel business in Puerto Rico almost for 20 years, and I decided to reach another level in my life. Working as a tourism director at the Capitol, I use my knowledge in leadership and customer service, and I challenge myself every day to learn more about our history.

What skill or talent are you most proud of?

I’m an honest worker, responsible and friendly.

What’s the best advice you were ever given?

Always communicate with others and never judge the person in front of you, because you don’t know what is happening in their lives.

Who or what inspires you?

First, God, and second, my family.

What are you currently reading/listening to/watching?

I’m reading “The 5 Love Languages,” by Gary Chapman.

This interview has been edited for length and clarity.
