Wyoming credentials three types of addiction counselors. Certified Addiction Practitioner Assistants requires, at minimum, an associate degree in a relevant field and 270 hours of relevant education courses. A Certified Addictions Practitioner requires a bachelor's degree in a mental health field and 21 hours of relevant education courses. A Licensed Addictions Therapist requires a master's degree in a relevant mental health field, completion of relevant education courses and 3,000 hours of supervised experience. Wyo.
