Now, Halloween is more about spending money. Consumers spent upwards of $12.2 billion on candy, costumes and decorations in 2023, according to USA Today. Consumers were also projected to spend $108 per person last year, according to the National Retail Federation. People aren’t just spending money on costumes for themselves: Pet owners shelled out $700 million on get-ups for their furry friends.
