States have their own signature tastes when it comes to Halloween candy. The annual survey by CandyStore.com shows the top three candies preferred at Halloween. No surprise: Reese’s Cups and Hersheys Mini Bars land in the top three in many places. But eight states don’t have a chocolate candy in their top three. As for candy corn, probably the one most associated with Halloween? It’s in the top three in only 11 states. It’s polarizing, but that’s to be expected for a candy that some have dubbed “Satan’s Earwax.” (Your Map Monday Maven loves it, even found a video about how it’s made.) Even if it’s not on the top of every state list, manufacturers expect to sell around 20 million pounds of candy corn for Halloween.
