The Army, the oldest branch of the U.S. military, is celebrating its 250th anniversary. It was founded on June 14, 1775, and more than half of U.S. presidents have worn its uniform. It is also the largest branch in the military and has had the same motto, “This We’ll Defend,” since the Revolutionary War.
