Congress voted unanimously in 1994 to designate the third Sunday in July as National Parents Day to recognize the hard work parents do to support their kids. Today’s Map Monday looks at the number of children in each state and the birthrate per thousand. Children represent about 22% of the nation’s population on average, down from a peak of 36% each year from 1960 to 1966.
