Meeting Overview

The State and Tribal Government Working Group (STGWG) held its spring meeting in St. Louis on May 10-12, 2022. Representatives from 13 states and eight tribes attended the meeting, joined by officials from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Advisory Council on Historic Preservation. STGWG continues to focus on the three priorities of long-term stewardship (LTS), natural resource damage assessment and restoration (NRDAR) and tribal issues.

STGWG convenes representatives from states and Native American tribes that host or are otherwise affected by DOE sites or facilities associated with the production and cleanup of the nuclear weapons complex. NCSL provides staff support to this group through a cooperative agreement with the DOE.
