Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a field related to performance auditing.
  • One year of employment in professional performance audit or program evaluation work. Disciplines considered relevant to performance auditing include, but are not limited to, public administration, social sciences, political science, statistics, accounting, journalism, business, economics, and law. Professional audit or program evaluation work is interpreted as work performed as a performance auditor, legislative analyst, program evaluator, or related occupation.
  • Strong preference given to candidates with a master’s degree in public policy, public administration, business administration, accounting, or related field.

Allowed Substitutions

  • A master’s degree in public administration, public policy, business administration or an allied discipline may be substituted for one year of the general experience.
  • A certified public accountant certification may be substituted for one year of general experience.
