Legislator in the Lab: Meeting Agenda
April 15-16, 2010
University of North Carolina School of Medicine
Chapel Hill, North Carolina
In 2010, the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) will host five “Legislator in the Lab” meetings at medical schools across the country. These meetings took state legislators into medical laboratories to learn from doctors and other medical professionals about the diagnosis, impact and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
In April, NCSL hosted such a meeting at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Legislators saw presentations on disparities in outcomes from cardiovascular disease, therapeutic substitution and cardiac electrophysiology. In addition legislators were able to tour the UNC Wellness Center at Meadowmont and the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
Information on developing healthy communities that ward off cardiovascular disease.
