Overview
In 2009, more than 800,000 emergency room visits across the country were related to preventable dental conditions, according to the Pew Children’s Dental Campaign. These visits impose significant costs on already troubled state budgets. Explore a variety of options to improve oral health access, and hear about opportunities for cost savings, state programs and collaboration among stakeholders.
In this video, Dr. Rebecca King of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services discusses children's oral health and the related costs and preventive efforts.
