The Urgency of Now: Protect, Sustain and Engage with your Military Installations
This session will focus on the Readiness and Environmental Protection Initiative (REPI), an established mechanism by which DoD partners with outside organizations to protect habitat and land uses that are compatible with the military mission. In a world of fewer resources and more demand, the ability of the military to train in the future will depend on the ability to form partnerships with private landowners, local governments, non-government organizations, state agencies and other federal agencies to mutually plan a future on multiple scales that include protecting the military mission footprint, while achieving the goals of the other partnership organizations and entities, in a complementary and supportive manner.
