ESSA and Personalized Learning: A Nationwide Look at State Strategies to Advance Personalized Learning

The world of work is evolving. Research shows that 65 percent of today’s grade school students will end up in jobs that do not yet exist. And while high school graduation rates continue to rise throughout the country, students aren’t graduating fully prepared with the skills necessary to enter the workforce or succeed in college.

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) provides states with significant flexibility to advance personalized learning and improve equitable outcomes for their students. Hear from Lillian Pace, senior director for National Policy at KnowledgeWorks, about emerging ideas states are considering as they leverage this flexibility through their implementation plans. Sponsored by the NCSL Student-Centered Learning Commission, with generous support from the Nellie Mae Education Foundation, this webinar will help state legislators and legislative staff think outside the box about how they might use opportunities in ESSA to advance personalized learning.
