Civility, Respect and the Politics of Governing

Many veteran legislators and staff feel they’ve lost something in the wave of increased partisanship. Like the book Fight Club Politics about the U.S. House, state legislatures are reporting a disheartening loss of civility and respect. This session explores our collective advice on how to stem the tide and restore the lost sense of collegiality. The session features popular radio talk hosts Republican John Hancock and Democrat Michael Kelley from KMOX (St. Louis) Radio as they share their political views and tips on disagreeing passionately but with humor and decency.
