NCSL Announces Americans with Disabilities Act Virtual Meeting Series

Denver—The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the most sweeping piece of civil rights legislation enacted for people with disabilities, turns 30 next week. The National Conference of State Legislatures in partnership with the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) of the Department of Labor are planning a weeklong celebration July 20-26, featuring a daily virtual meeting series.

U.S. Labor Secretary Eugene Scalia will participate in the July 20 meeting, and U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao will participate in the July 23 meeting.

These meetings are dedicated to educating state policymakers about the ADA and how it has improved access and inclusion for a generation of Americans.
