Denver—The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) has launched a new interactive webpage that provides a comprehensive look at legal challenges mounted to legislative and congressional redistricting plans based on the 2010 census.
The interactive map provides summaries of the major redistricting cases and allows visitors to easily see where the major cases have occurred and whether it was a commission or the legislature who drew the maps in each state. View the interactive map.
Redistricting is the process of redrawing state legislative and congressional district boundaries every 10 years following the decennial U.S. census.
NCSL is a bipartisan organization that serves the legislators and staffs of the states, commonwealths and territories. It provides research, technical assistance and opportunities for policymakers to exchange ideas on the most pressing state issues and is an effective and respected advocate for the interests of the states in the American federal system.
