Madison — Robin Vos, president of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) and speaker of the Wisconsin State Assembly, will attend a plenary session of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) in Brussels after the Fourth of July holiday. The visit aims to strengthen the ties between the United States and Europe and foster cooperation and understanding among subnational legislative bodies.
During his time in Brussels, Vos will address a general assembly of the committee to emphasize the significance of subnational legislative bodies and discuss current and future collaboration between NCSL and CoR on issues of mutual interest.
“I look forward to this unique opportunity as we continue to demonstrate our commitment in building bridges between the United States and Europe, and further strengthen ties between NCSL and CoR,” Vos said.
In addition to his participation in the plenary session, Vos will meet with leaders of the CoR, including President Vasco Alves Cordeiro and First Vice President Apostolos Tzitzikostas.
