NCSL Urges U.S. Attorney General to Prioritize Removing Cannabis from Schedule I

Washington, D.C.— In a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) expressed its strong support for removing cannabis from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act.

The Schedule I classification of cannabis imposes significant challenges on legitimate state-authorized cannabis use and businesses.
