NCSL Recognizes 2024 Legislative Staff Achievement Award Recipients

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) will honor 18 outstanding current and former legislative staff, along with the Michigan Senate Fiscal Agency, during its Legislative Summit in Louisville, Ky.

The 2024 Legislative Staff Achievement Award recipients will be recognized by NCSL’s Staff Chair Sabrina Lewellen and the Legislative Staff Coordinating Committee (LSCC) at the “Salute to Legislative Staff” session at the Summit on Aug. 6.

This year’s recipients are:

American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries (ASLCS)

  • Scott Kaiser, assistant secretary, Illinois Senate
  • Sherry Rodriguez, assistant secretary, Nevada Senate

Leadership Staff Professional Association (LSPA)

  • Debra Childs, deputy chief of staff, Speaker’s Office, New Hampshire House of Representatives
  • Sara Kalaoram, chief of staff, Office of the Speaker of the Assembly, Nevada Legislature

Legislative Information and Communications Staff (LINCS)

  • Paige Stevens, legislative assistant, Utah Senate
  • Casey Rife, communications director, Ohio Senate Minority Caucus

Legislative Research Librarians Staff (LRL)

  • Jessica Lundgren, director, Law and Legislative Reference Library, Maine Legislature

National Association of Legislative Fiscal Offices (NALFO)

  • Michigan Senate Fiscal Agency
