Washington, D.C. – Voters in 46 states will go to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8, to determine the outcome of 6,279 legislative races. Of the nation’s 7,386 legislators, 3,978 are Republican and 3,266 are Democrats. Republicans maintain 61 legislative chambers while Democrats hold 37. Nebraska has a nonpartisan, unicameral Legislature.
