Denver – While the eyes of this year’s election tend to be focused on the presidential race, 5,917 out of 7,383 state legislative seats are up this year as well. Republicans, who have the edge in state legislative control going into November, increased their majorities to historic highs and claimed even more legislative chambers in 2014. In fact, Republicans maintain 68 legislative chambers while Democrats hold 30.
