NCSL staff regularly maintain more than 40 legislation tracking databases. Find all introduced state legislation, or enactments for policy topics such as public health, ballot measures, state elections, prescription drugs, law enforcement and more. Search through active and archived databases.

Eligible Voters in Jails 

For those who are in jail or prison, but whose right to vote has not been curtailed, there are two major ways of voting: by an absentee/mail ballot or through in-person voting provided at the site of incarceration. Voting by mail is the most popular voting method for incarcerated individuals.
