Legislative staff and legislators serve together as members of the nine NCSL Standing Committees. The committees provide a forum to learn from national experts, share best practices and network with your colleagues from around the country. Each committee has both legislators and legislative staff as officers, who together work with NCSL staff to establish themes, set agendas and develop work products.
In these videos, learn more about the Standing Committees, how to become a member and the NCSL policy process. After viewing the videos, we invite you to review some of the other standing committee resources on this page for members and officers by following the links in the box at right. If you have additional questions about the Standing Committees or your role as a member or an officer please email the D.C. office directors.
