Symposium for Women Legislative Leaders

CapitolThis meeting will focus on the successes, challenges and unique environment of the legislature for women who are in leadership roles. Inaugurated in 2014, this meeting received the highest scores of any NCSL meeting for applicability to legislators’ daily duties. All women who are are speakers, presidents, pro tems, majority leaders, minority leaders, and whips in legislatures across the country are invited.

Sessions will focus on the role women leaders play in making important and powerful decisions while also providing experts to help hone their communications skills. This meeting is an opportunity for leaders to collaborate with your colleagues and receive specialized training to help you do your job better.

As a legislative leader, you will receive:

  • Two complimentary nights at the Inn at Loretto (Nov. 5 and 6).
  • A travel stipend up to $300.
  • Meals while at the symposium.
  • Free registration to this exclusive event.

Spouse/Guest Registration fee: $150
Due to the anticipated size of meeting attendance, a guest registration fee of $150 will be charged for guest registrations. The fee will cover the costs associated with the social events during the evenings. You will be invoiced for the balance due upon completion of registration.

Please return the electronic registration and housing form to guarantee your hotel reservations by Oct. 15. After that date, our room rate cannot be guaranteed. NCSL will provide two complimentary nights hotel stay at the conference rate for legislative leaders.

Reservations for dates outside of the conference nights will be accepted based on availability. The conference rate cannot be guaranteed for dates prior to or after the meeting, and the market rate may apply.

 

Travel Information

Travel InformationSanta Fe is served by the Santa Fe Municipal Airport or the Albuquerque International Sunport Airport. The Inn at Loretto is approximately a 10-minute cab ride from Santa Fe Airport and 60 minutes by cab from Albuquerque. Taxi fares range from $15-$100 depending on the airport of arrival. Albuquerque offers a number of shuttles as well. 

NCSL does not cover the cost of travel to the meeting, however, we are offering a $300 travel stipend for each attendee. If you need assistance booking air travel, you may contact the NCSL Travel Desk at:
