2018 National Legislative Services and Security Association Training Conference

Richmond, VAThe National Legislative Services and Security Association (NLSSA) hosts the only national training event designed exclusively for legislative and parliamentary staff who work in the areas of security, administrative services and tourism management.

This year's conference offers participants a unique opportunity to learn important skills, build relationships with services and security colleagues and advance their effectiveness.

This year the NLSSA Professional Development Seminar will be held in Richmond, Va., at the Homewood Suites Richmond - Downtown, Aug. 26-31, 2018. A diverse group of faculty will speak on a wide range of security, historic preservation, personnel and administrative topics. Please join us in Richmond for training, tours, workshops, roundtables and networking opportunities.

Registration fees are:
Legislative staff, state legislators and Government: $425
Business & Other: $475
Spouse/Guest fee: $175

Two ways to register:

Register Online: Requires a credit card for everyone except legislators and legislative staff. Confirmations will be sent by email. Deadline to register online is Friday, Aug. 17.



Onsite Registration: If you can't make the registration cut-off, onsite registration will be available onsite at the Homewood Suites Richmond-Downtown beginning on Sunday, Aug. 26.

Spouse/Guest Registration. The $175 guest fee includes admission to the opening reception, lunch at the governor's mansion and the state dinner.

Cancellations received in the NCSL Denver office by Saturday, Aug. 25, will be refunded minus a $25 processing fee. Cancellations must be made in writing and faxed to 303-856-2554 or e-mailed to registration@ncsl.org. Fees cannot be refunded for registrations cancelled after the conference begins.

Each attendee is responsible for making his or her hotel and travel arrangements.

Deadline to make a reservation is Monday, August 13, 2018. Reservations received after this date will be subject to availability and prevailing rate. Reservation can be held until 6 p.m. on the check-in day, or guaranteed with a credit card for late arrival. Free cancellation before 11:59 p.m. local hotel time on Aug. 24, 2018.

If you use a debit/credit card to check in, a hold may be placed on your card account for the full anticipated amount to be owed to the hotel, including estimated incidentals, through your date of check-out and such hold may not be released for 72 hours from the date of check-out or longer at the discretion of your card issuer.
