Capital Building-Madison, WIThe National Legislative Services and Security Association (NLSSA) hosts the only national training event designed exclusively for state legislative staff who work in the areas of security, administrative services and tourism management. 

This year, six staff sections have joined together to create "SuperPDS 2012",  a joint meeting in Madison, Wisconsin.  Each of the staff sections will get together for a plenary session, a luncheon, and a reception at the capitol.  In addition, staff sections that have parallel interests will hold joint sessions, where appropriate. The conference offers participants a unique opportunity to learn important work skills, build relationships with colleagues from other states, and advance the effectiveness of America's state legislatures.

The 2012 NLSSA Annual Training Conference will be held in Madison, Wisconsin at the Madison Concourse Hotel. NCSL, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Legislature, has invited a diverse group of faculty from throughout the state and country to speak on a wide range of security, historic preservation, personnel, and administrative topics.  Please join us in the City of Four Lakes for training, tours, workshops, roundtables and networking opportunities.
 

REGISTRATION

Registration fees are:

  • Legislative staff: $300
  • Spouse/guest: $150
  • All others: $350

Three ways to register:

  • Register online
    Registration online requires a credit card for everyone except legislators and legislative staff. Confirmations will be sent by e-mail, and meeting materials will be mailed.
  • Fax the registration form to 303.364.7811

  • Onsite Registration
    If you are unable to meet the September 27, 2012 registration deadline, register onsite at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino.

Spouse/Guest Registration. The $150 fee includes admission to all guest related activities, scheduled meal functions and evening social events.

Cancellations received in the NCSL Denver office by October9, 2012 will be refunded minus a $50 processing fee. Cancellations must be made in writing and faxed to 303.364.7811. Fees cannot be refunded for registrations cancelled after the conference begins.

Confirmations will be e-mailed if an address is provided. Letter confirmations will be mailed upon request.

The Madison Concourse Hotel is the place to be!

Due to the popularity of this meeting, the Madison Concourse Hotel has sold out of rooms. NCSL has secured the Sheraton Madison as an overflow hotel.
If you still need a room, please make your reservation at the Sheraton Madison.
  • You can make reservations by calling directly at 608-251-2300 and reference "NCSL" or online.
  • Rate: $119/night (plus tax)
  • Cut-off date: Monday, Sept. 24
The Sheraton is located three miles from the Capitol. Transportation will be provided from the Sheraton to the Concourse/Capitol area. A transportation schedule will be available onsite.

Ground Transportation
The Madison Concourse Hotel provides a complimentary airport shuttle.  Use the courtesy phones to call for the shuttle.  Cabs are also available; fares are approximately $15 one way.
