About the NLPES LinkedIn Group

The purpose of the NLPES LinkedIn Group is to promote discussion among NLPES member offices and staff, help make connections between offices to promote the exchange of ideas, and inform member offices of upcoming events.

The NLPES LinkedIn page is maintained by the NLPES Executive Committee with assistance from NCSL.

The NLPES LinkedIn Group is a closed group. It is open only to NLPES members.  

How to Sign Up for the NLPES LinkedIn Group

Because the NLPES LinkedIn Group is closed, eligibility as an NLPES member must be verified before you can join. If you are interested in joining the group, there are two ways you can submit a request:

Option 1

Hit the “Request to Join” button on the NLPES LinkedIn Group page. If a group manager is able to verify your eligibility for membership through information available on your LinkedIn profile, the manager may accept your request. If sufficient information is unavailable, however, the manager may direct you to Option 2.

Option 2

Send an email requesting to join the NLPES LinkedIn Group to Brenda Erickson, the NCSL liaison to NLPES. In the message’s subject area, type “SUBSCRIBE to NLPES LinkedIn Group.” Please include the following contact information in your subscription request:

  • Your name
  • Job title
  • Audit agency/organization name
  • Phone number
  • Work email address
  • LinkedIn address (you must be registered with LinkedIn to join)

Etiquette for the NLPES LinkedIn Group

When using the LinkedIn Group, please remember the following:

  • A comment posted by an NLPES member is the opinion of that person only. Publication of a comment does not indicate the endorsement or opinion of the NLPES Executive Committee or NCSL.
  • Do not post any confidential information. You are responsible for following your state’s laws and rules related to public information and confidentiality.
  • Refrain from engaging in arguments or debates. Responding factually to substantive questions is permitted, but engaging in policy debate is not.
  • Comments and conversations should be professional and courteous. You are fully responsible for the content of your comments. The NLPES Executive Committee reserves the right to delete any comments.

How to Unsubscribe From the NLPES LinkedIn Group

Send an email requesting to be removed from the NLPES listserv to Brenda Erickson, the NCSL liaison to NLPES. In the message’s subject area, type “UNSUBSCRIBE from NLPES LinkedIn Group.” Please include the following contact information in your request:

  • Your name
  • Audit agency/organization name
  • State
  • Work email address
  • LinkedIn address
