Robust data collection and analysis is vital in answering critical policy questions, yet access to timely and quality data, and maintaining privacy safeguards poses a significant challenge for legislative staff. Additionally, not all data sets are objective and hidden biases in both the collection and analysis stages present considerable risks. This session will address the challenges of obtaining and providing policymakers with reliable information.
