Annual NCSL Legislative Awards
Each year NCSL and the professional staff associations recognize individuals, offices and agencies who support and further the work and mission of legislative institutions across the nation. See below for specific award details.
Legislative Staff Achievement Awards
Beginning in 1997, each of the NCSL staff professional associations were given the opportunity to recognize among their membership up to two legislative staff or agencies who made outstanding contributions to their legislatures and to the staff association. The award was established through the Legislative Staff Coordinating Committee as a means of recognizing excellence in service to state legislatures. In addition to the staff professional association honorees, the staff co-chair(s) of the NCSL Standing Committees may select up to two additional award recipients. The Legislative Education Staff Network also presents an annual staff award.

Notable Document Awards
Each year the Legislative Research Librarians (LRL) staff association sponsors the competition for outstanding state and legislative documents.
Any state or legislative document published in the last two years is eligible. Submissions are generally made through each state’s legislative librarian but can be made by other interested persons.
The Notable Documents Awards are presented annually by the Legislative Research Librarians at the NCSL Legislative Summit.
