Join your colleagues in Phoenix!The American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries (ASLCS) hosts an annual Professional Development Seminar (PDS) for principal clerks and secretaries and their staffs.

This year's meeting takes place in Phoenix, and aims to bring together participants from across the country and internationally to learn important skills and procedures, build relationships, and take away new tools and ideas to enhance the effectiveness of state legislatures.

On the agenda are plenary sessions hosted by Christine Cashen and Paul Chabot, concurrent sessions (including one from performer and "dean of Arizona historians" Marshall Trimble), breakouts for principals and associates, and meetings of the standing committees, special committees, and the 2020 Mason's Manual Commission. In addition, our hosts are planning an array of social events that will allow attendees to network with their counterparts in other states while experiencing the warm Arizona hospitality!

(Includes admission to all scheduled meal functions and evening social events)

  • Guests: $200 
  • Retired Members: $200
  • International: $0
  • All others: $500

Three ways to register:

  • Register Online: Credit card required for everyone except legislative staff. Confirmations will be sent by email. Deadline to register online is Friday, Sept. 15, 2017.
  • Registration by Email/Fax: Download the registration form and email or fax to (303) 364-7811.
  • Onsite registration: Available at the Renaissance Phoenix downtown beginning the afternoon of Sunday, September 24, 2017.

Cancellations received in the NCSL Denver office by Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 will be refunded (minus a $50 processing fee). Cancellations must be made in writing and emailed to registration@ncsl.org or faxed to 303-364-7811. Fees cannot be refunded for registrations cancelled after the conference begins.
