2013 (April) Legislative Administrator Committee Meeting Minutes

Call to Order

The meeting of the Legislative Administrator Committee was called to order by Maryann Horch, vice chair.


The following members of the committee were present: Maryann Horch (VA), vice chair, and Bernadette McNulty (CA).

Other members/guests in attendance included Scott Kaiser (IL).

Approval of Minutes

Upon a motion by Scott Kaiser, seconded by Bernadette McNulty (CA), the minutes of the last meeting held Oct. 6, 2012, during the 2012 Fall Professional Development Seminar, in Richmond, VA, were approved.


Upon the recommendation of the last committee meeting, The Legislative Administrator has more color—seems to be well received. Last issue printed with partial color pages cost $3,700. We would like to do the next issue (anniversary issue) in all color, which would increase the cost. Does the committee feel it is worth it to ask the Executive Committee for additional funds? All were in agreement.

With the anniversary issue, we would like to include a section on “What ASLCS means to me” (like the 50th anniversary issue). The committee will touch base with Karen Wadsworth, ASLCS president, and Scott Kaiser, ASLCS staff chair, to ask them to reach out to various members for their feedback/stories.


Upon a motion by Bernadette McNulty (CA), seconded by Scott Kaiser, the meeting was adjourned.
