Patience Worrell reviewed the committee’s charge and asked the members for suggestions on how ASLCS can ensure its international attendees are comfortable and feel included in the group at the 2012 PDS. The following suggestions were discussed:

  • Prepare a guide of short phrases in the guests’ native languages for use at the 2012 reception.
  • Extend mentoring beyond the international reception by assigning members to accompany guests to certain portions of the program.
  • Provide ethnic food that is familiar to the international guests.

Susan Schaar provided background information on the relationship of ASLCS to its international partners and reviewed the monetary assistance ASLCS provides to the international guests.

Adjournment

There being no further business to come before the committee, the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,

Susan Furlong (NV), Recorder
